The adductor transversus pollicis is a deep muscle that is flat and triangular in form. It passes from the middle of the palm to the thumb. It originates on the palmar side of the metacarpal bone of the middle finger and inserts in the base of the thumb on the ulnar side. This muscle works with the first |dorsal interosseus| to grasp objects between the thumb and index finger.
